Select matching thread, get a pair of scissors and a needle of appropriate size. While selecting the thread, get a thin one so as to pass through the button’s eye with ease. If using shank buttons than any type of sewing needle will work due to its protrusion at the back.

After arranging all things, begin your work with positioning of button to fix the button in correct position. Put some stitches onto the fabric to anchor the button’s position. If you opt for sewing through style, go through the holes of the buttons. For proper fixing, repeat the process up to 3 to 4 times, do not tighten the threads too tightly that the buttons won’t be able to move. Once the process is done, encircle the threads few times between the fabric and the button to avoid wear and tear.

Natural button manufacturer, plastic button manufacturer, and leather button manufacturer mostly help in following the above procedure, but shank button manufacturer ask to follow another sewing method due to their protruding back. Here, after the anchor stitch, run the thread through the shank hole and repeat it few times to secure the button in position. The difference is minor!

Whichever button you choose, finish off the button with few small stitches and lastly tie a knot. No more tension if a button is missing, wholesale buttons are there to mend your clothes and maintain your own style statement!
